Hi everyone, I’m Lucy- a Social Media Account Manager at Refinery!

What do you love about your job?

I get to wear SO many hats in this role. From coming up with social-first ideas, building relationships with clients, securing Influencer collaborations, working on B2B opportunities and even getting to lend my own hand to creating content (my fave part!), there’s never a dull day. The world of Social moves fast but for someone like me who basically lives and breathes content, it’s a perfect fit.

Tell us a bit more about you

I always describe myself as a basic girl, but with a twist. I love matcha’s, Jellycat’s and anything pastel coloured, but I also grew up listening to rock music (credit: @Dad), love Marvel movies and I nerd out BIG time over all things fantasy (Romantasy books are my current hyper fixation). Also remember how I said I live and breathe content? I also do UGC in my spare time. Maybe I have too many hobbies…

What were you up to before you joined Refinery?

My last role was in-house working for the University of Salford (where I also graduated from!) as a Social Media Officer. I created and managed content to attract prospective students, showing them everything from the campus and facilities to exploring the Salford area and beyond. It was also my way of staying in the uni bubble that little bit longer.

What’s an interesting fact about you?

I love anything related to makeup and beauty. Sephora is like Disneyland to me. I’m often asked why I didn’t become an MUA, but the truth is while I can apply makeup to my own face, I’m rubbish at doing it on anyone else!
